Service through which water is collected from the source, treated through purification, and released into the water supply network for distribution to users. The user pays for this service with a variable rate based on the cubic meters consumed and differentiated according to consumption brackets.
The Single Buyer is the non-profit joint stock company (S.p.A.) established by the National Transmission Network Operator (GRTN). Pursuant to Legislative Decree 79/99 (known as the "Bersani Decree"), the Single Buyer is responsible for entering into and managing supply contracts to ensure the market of captive customers has access to electricity generation capacity and the supply of electricity under conditions of continuity, security, and efficiency of service, as well as equal treatment, including in terms of tariffs.

Balancing is the service provided by GRTN to maintain a balance between electricity injections and withdrawals on the national grid. Balancing regulations apply to eligible end customers, who are required to enter into a balancing contract with the Grid Operator, either directly or through a designated entity.
Gases resulting from the decomposition processes of organic material (such as, for example, the wet fraction of municipal solid waste) which, if appropriately treated, can be used as fuel for thermal electricity generation plants.
Organic material produced by photosynthesis and used to generate electricity. Biomass, due to its ability to regenerate itself, is considered renewable energy.

This is a tool introduced by the Government and implemented by the Energy Authority, in collaboration with municipalities, to ensure that families experiencing financial hardship can save on gas costs. The bonus applies exclusively to natural gas distributed through the network (and not to cylinder gas or LPG) for consumption at the home. The Power Exchange is a wholesale market based on an auction mechanism. The Exchange's function is to maintain the instantaneous balance between electricity supply and demand in the most efficient way, promoting competition.
This is the Regulation and Measurement cabin that performs the initial decompression of the natural gas and allows the transition from the initial pressure level to the medium pressure level. It is identified by an 8-character numeric code.

This is the document, required by law, with which the operator commits to meeting certain service quality standards for its users. Quality standards typically concern the maximum times for completing the main services requested by the user, and in some cases, violation of these standards may entitle the operator to a refund. The Service Charter must be made available on the website and in at least one other way (for example, at the operator's offices).
It is a body established in 1961, following the decision of the CIP (Inter-Ministerial Prices Committee) to create an equalization mechanism upon the introduction of the single national tariff.
An annual certificate, traded on the Energy Exchange, awarded by the National Transmission Grid Operator (GRTN) to electricity generated from renewable energy sources by plants that entered into service after April 1, 1999, for the first eight years of their operation. This certificate is provided for by the Bersani Decree as a possible alternative instrument to satisfy the obligation, imposed since 2002 on all energy producers/importers, to feed into the grid a minimum share of green energy equal to 2% of the non-renewable energy produced/imported in the previous year. Green certificates may be offered by two categories of entities: producers (domestic and foreign) and, for the portion of demand not satisfied by the latter, by the National Transmission Grid Operator (GRTN).
A technology for generating electricity from gaseous fuels that relies on the use of one or more gas turbines (gas turbines) combined with a steam turbine. The heat from the gas turbine exhaust is used in a heat recovery steam generator, which produces steam that is then used in the steam turbine.
CIP/6 is the acronym for the Interministerial Prices Committee Provision No. 6 of April 1992, which established the prices at which private individuals could sell electricity produced from renewable or similar sources to Enel. The CIP/6 mechanism will eventually be replaced by the Green Certificate System, established by the Bersani Decree.
A natural or legal person who purchases electricity exclusively for their own use. Low voltage end customers served on the free market are considered entitled to enhanced protection, unless there is immediate evidence of situations clearly deeming the customer eligible for the safeguarded option; this is particularly true when the customer has other medium or high voltage withdrawal points served by the same supplier or when the supplier has signed a contract with an end customer who has not been granted the safeguarded option.
A natural or legal person who buys and sells electricity without carrying out production, transmission, or distribution activities in European Union countries.

End Customer who, pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 79 of 16 March 1999, does not fall into the category of Eligible Customers and is entitled to enter into supply contracts exclusively with the distributor who provides the service in the territorial area where the user is located.
This is the coefficient that converts the consumption measured by the meter, expressed in cubic meters, into the unit of measurement used for billing, i.e., Standard Cubic Meters. The conversion coefficient C is necessary because the volume of the same quantity of gas, and therefore the same energy content, depends on the pressure and temperature at which that quantity is delivered. For example, the same quantity of gas occupies a different volume depending on whether it is delivered to a seaside or mountain location. To ensure that all customers pay the same amount for the same amount of energy consumed, this conversion is necessary: ​​for example, if the consumption measured by the meter is 110 cubic meters and the value of the coefficient C is 1.027235, then the standard cubic meters billed will be: 110 x 1.027235 = 112.99585 Smc.
Parameter that identifies the building's efficiency based on the building's energy certification required by Legislative Decree 311/06. The CU is calculated based on the building's volume, specific consumption, and the maximum flow rate required by the user.
Combined production of electricity and heat under the conditions defined by the Electricity and Gas Authority, which guarantee significant energy savings compared to separate production.

The energy price includes network losses generated on the transmission and distribution grids, unless otherwise explicitly provided in free market contracts.
It is that portion of energy that, instead of being immediately consumed by the user, is stored for a few fractions of a second and released into the electricity grid.
Electricity costs differently depending on when it's used: during the day, when electricity demand is highest, it costs more; in the evening, at night, and on holidays, it costs less. All installed electronic meters will be programmed to record customer consumption by distinguishing the time slots in which it occurs (F1, F2, F3). These time slots have been defined by the Energy Authority. For supplies to large users connected to high or medium voltage, it's possible to access a system, called multi-time slots, which provides different purchase rates depending on the time slot of the day: for peak hours (F1), high load hours (F2), medium load hours (F3), and off-peak hours (F4). The daily and weekly distribution of these time slots is different for medium voltage supplies than for higher voltage supplies. Band F1 (peak hours) Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., excluding national holidays. Band F2 (off-peak hours) Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., excluding national holidays. Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., excluding national holidays. Band F3 (off-peak hours) Monday to Saturday: 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Sundays and holidays: all hours of the day. Electricity supply taxes are: State consumption tax (excise duty), municipal surcharge, and provincial surcharge. They are applied to the amount of energy consumed and provide, for "domestic use" customers, a tax relief system for supplying electricity to their registered residence, which reduces or exempts the amount in the case of low consumption. Surcharges were abolished on January 1, 2012 in ordinary statute regions and on April 1, 2012 in special statute regions. Value added tax (VAT). It is applied to the total cost of the service, and currently the rate applied to energy supply for "domestic use" customers is equal to the reduced rate; for "other uses" customers, it is equal to the standard rate.
Taxes include the state excise tax, the regional surcharge, and the value added tax (VAT). The state excise tax for "civil uses," including domestic uses, varies between the two macro-zones of North-Central and South-Central (formerly Cassa del Mezzogiorno) and also varies based on four consumption brackets: 0-120, 120-480, 480-1560, and over 1560 Smc. The state excise tax for "industrial uses" has a single rate for consumption up to 200,000 Smc. The regional surcharge is determined independently by each region through its own provision, taking into account the limits imposed by general tax legislation. Value Added Tax (VAT), calculated on the sum of all items on the bill, including excise duties, is reduced for civil uses (and therefore also for domestic uses) for the first 480 cubic meters consumed in the year, and is standard for all other consumption and fixed amounts. For customers with "industrial uses," the standard rate is always applied, unless the customer requests the application of the reduced rate as provided by law.

General charges are established by law and are paid by all end-users of electricity services; they are included in the bill as Network Services. They are intended to cover various charges: Component A3: promotion of energy production from renewable and similar sources; Component A4: financing of special tariff regimes; Component A5: financing of research and development activities; Component A6: coverage of costs already incurred by companies and not recoverable following the liberalization of the electricity market; Component AS: coverage of charges arising from the adoption of tariff protection measures for electricity sector customers experiencing economic and/or physical hardship pursuant to the Interministerial Decree of December 28, 2007; Component UC4: coverage of tariff supplements for smaller electricity companies; Component UC3: coverage of cost equalization mechanisms for electricity transmission, distribution, and metering; Component UC7: to cover costs arising from measures and interventions to promote energy efficiency in end-use applications; Components A2 and MCT: decommissioning of nuclear power plants and territorial compensation measures.
It's a 14-digit code that identifies the physical point where natural gas is delivered by the supplier and collected by the end customer. Since it identifies a physical point on the distribution network, the code doesn't change even if you change supplier.
These are the natural energy losses generated during the transport of electricity from the power plant to the point of supply. They are conventionally set by the Energy Authority at 10.8% of the energy withdrawn: that is, if 110.8 kWh of electricity is injected from the generation plant into the transport grid on behalf of the supplier, 100 kWh of this electricity arrives at the withdrawal point (for example, the customer's home). Energy prices can be expressed net of grid losses, or they can include them. Depending on the case, grid losses can be invoiced in different ways that do not affect the total amount payable.
Energy losses that occur during the transmission of electrical energy in electrical networks at different voltage levels. The electrical energy losses of a network, over a given period, are calculated as the difference between the energy fed into the network and its consumption.

Corresponds to the power contracted at the user
This is the maximum drawable power, above which the energy supply may be interrupted due to the meter automatically tripping. For customers with contractually committed power up to 30 kW, the available power corresponds to the contracted power plus 10%.
This is the power level indicated in the contracts and made available by the supplier (technically, this is called contractually committed power). The committed power is defined based on the customer's needs at the time of signing the contract, based on the type (and number) of electrical appliances typically used. For most homes, and therefore domestic customers, the committed power is 3 kW.
This parameter indicates the energy supplied to the customer through a standard cubic meter of gas; it is used to convert gas consumption, expressed in cubic meters, into gas consumption valued in terms of energy (a relevant parameter for the end customer). The PCS parameter, in fact, represents the amount of energy contained in a cubic meter of gas supplied at standard temperature and pressure conditions.
Energy prices, based on the supply contract, can be classified as single-rate, dual-rate, or multi-rate. The price is called single-rate when it is the same throughout the day; dual-rate when it varies based on two different time slots (F1 and F2+F3); and multi-rate when it varies for each of the three time slots (F1, F2, F3).
These are the unit prices paid by the customer for each kWh of energy, kW of power, Smc of gas or per unit of time (days, months, years).
